What are the CoP notifications and what do they mean?

Confirmation of Payee (CoP) relies on a very simple system of notifications to communicate the outcome of a check.

Match

The CoP Service has checked the name entered with the legal name registered on the account held at the Account Issuers and it matches.

 PartialMatch

The CoP Service has checked the name entered with the legal name registered on the account held at the Account Issuers and it doesn't match exactly.
Not a match

The CoP Service has checked the name entered with the legal name registered on the account held at the Account Issuers and it does not match.

 Exception 1

The CoP Service or the CoP response may be timing out because of an outage. If this notification persists for greater than 2 hours, please let us know.
Exception 2

The CoP check is being made on an account that can not be checked by the service, this might be because the account exists but can not accept funds or support a CoP check.

 Exception 3

The CoP Service is not provided by the Payee's Account Issuer so the account can't be checked.
